Island Peak Mountaineering Instruction Course
The Island Peak in the Khumbu Himal
was named by Mr. Shipton as it resembled an Island within the sea of White Mountain Peaks. Your trip will take you
through the Everest Region to the Mt. Everest Base Camp and up Kala Patar, before you are going to Summit the 6,160m
tall Peak.
With
trained and certified guides which will take you through each step of the Mountain and the handeling of the
equipment this trekking Peak is aimed at the adventerous Novice.
The course curriculum includes an
introduction to equipment, crevasse rescue, ice climbing skills, rope work and comprehensive mountaineering safety
techniques.
Day 01
:Arrive in Kathmandu/Group Dinner.
Day 02 :Sightseeing
in Kathmandu with Swayambunath and Pashupatinath/Trip preparation.
Day 03-04 : Fly to
Lukla and trek to Namche Bazaar.
Day 05-06 : Trek to
Thyangboche after a rest day at Namche Bazaar.
Day 07-08 : Trek to
Dingboche/Rest Day.
Day 09 : Trek to
Lobuche.
Day 10
:Climb Kala Patar for amazing views of Everest and
Nuptse.
Day 11
:Everest Base Camp.
Day 12-13
:Ascend to Island peak base camp / Rest and climbing
clinic.
Day 14-16
:Island peak climbing period.
Day 17-20
: Trekking down to Lukla via
Thyangboche.
Day 21-22
: Fly to Kathmandu/Rest day.
Day 23
: Depart for Home.
